Do the right thing. It's a simple principle, but Jay has found that keeping it at the core of what you do has a profound impact. As an internal audit professional with over two decades of experience, it means taking that extra step to address a client's needs in a better, more precise way. As co-founder and partner at R&M, it means fostering an environment where clients can reach a higher level of success, and where R&M's amazing team can feel good about what they do every day.

He developed this belief in going above and beyond while working in world-class internal audit departments, including AT&T, Accenture and Northwestern University. He led the internal audit team as Vice President and Director of Internal Audit at a Fortune 500 company, and most recently, before starting his own firm, he was Vice President and National Practice Director of Internal Audit and Information Technology Audit for a national tax and internal audit consulting firm. There, he led the project team for one of the first companies to comply with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Jay's passion for his profession also finds outlets in teaching and industry organizations. He serves on the Long Range Planning Committee of the Chicago Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and also as Past President. He also served as a Midwest District Representative of the North American Institute of Internal Auditors. He is a guest lecturer at DePaul University, where he is a member of the Internal Audit Advisory Committee, and teaches a variety of classes for the IIA and the Northern Illinois University CIA Review Course.
